Faith Baptist Church is sending a group of 26 people (10 men 16 women) to build two classrooms for an orphanage in southern Uganda.
This team was inspired by a visit from the Watoto Children's Choir to our Church in 2008.  Many people were impacted by the plight of children whose families have been devastated by AIDS as well as the civil war in the northern part of the country.  We were moved to find ways to assist those children in need.  Besides many people who started to sponsor children, the team was also formed to go over to Uganda to provide assistance in the form of a building project.  We also have a subset of our team presenting a leadership development seminar to churches within Kampala.

The team will be building classrooms out of brick alongside a crew of Ugandan builders.  The bricks and concrete slab will already be on site.  There will be some tools on site, and the team will be leaving all tools that they bring - after the project is completed.

Over $40,000 has been raised to go towards the building project as well as to bring additional materials that are in need.  Those additional materials include:  baby clothes and bottles, children clothes, soccer balls, baby formula, educational supplies, and various other tools.  Watoto has an extensive needs list on their website.   http://www.watoto.com

Updates will provide on the Faith Baptist Watoto Team Blog located here.

From February 4 to the 20 the team will make their journey to to Uganda. They require your prayers and a prayer schedule has been provided here.
